It is designed for demands that require metal straps with a common tensile strength grade of 830N/mm².
There are three surface treatment methods for our steel banding.
The surface of the steel metal strapping determines its anti-rust property. Therefore, "bare wax" has no anti-rust effect, while the common "blue tempered & wax" has already shown a satisfactory protective effect.
If better anti-rust quality is required, after bluing heat treatment, apply black varnished, then drying it and then waxing. In this way, a better anti-rust effect can be achieved.
As a large-scale metal strapping manufacturer in China, the colors of our painted steel strips can be customized, such as black, green, red, etc.
zinc dust varnished has the best anti-rust effect. We have two types of galvanized steel stripping,One is hot rolled steel strapping, the other one is cold rolled steel strapping
Smooth edge with burr removal: Our steel strapping undergoes a proprietary deburring process, ensuring smooth, rounded edges that eliminate the risk of cuts or abrasions during handling. This feature not only enhances operator safety but also minimizes damage to packaged goods.
Ribbon wound coil steel strapping with a width 12.7mm/16mm/19mm is usually 25-30kgs per roll.25mm steel strapping:36-40kgs per rolls.32mm steel banding:45-50kgs per roll.around 1 ton per pallet.Ribbon is generally suitable for manual strapping tools and pneumatic strapping tools.
Oscillate wound coil steel strapping with a width 12.7mm/16mm/19mm is usually 40-50kgs per roll.12-18 rolls per pallet.Oscillated is generally suitable for manual strapping tools or pneumatic strapping tools or steel strapping machine.
Jumbo wound coil steel strapping with a width 32mm is usually 180kgs/280kgs/360kgs/400kgs/500kgs/1000kgs.Jumbo is generally suitable for steel strapping machine.
The dimensions and weights of the steel strips mentioned above are some of our more common standards. If you need other width dimensions or required weights, we can accept customization. Welcome to consult!

A:Pivot™ Steel Strapping is a specialized grade of regular duty steel banding manufactured for applications requiring reliable strength and ductility, typically rated at 830 N/mm² (830mpa). It is ideal for general industrial use, providing secure fixation for applications like bundling light cartons and pallets, ensuring cargo integrity without the need for extreme high-tensile strapping.
A: Pivot Steel Strapping is available in several coil/winding formats: ribbon-wound (RW), oscillated-wound (OW), and jumbo/bulk coils. For manual or pneumatic strapping tools (small to medium loads, pallet bundling), ribbon-wound coils are ideal. For semi-automatic or machine-based packing, oscillated coils offer balanced convenience. Jumbo or bulk coils are suited for large scale orders, factories, or heavy export shipments — offering cost-effective bulk supply and compatibility with automated strapping machines
A: Pivot Steel Strapping can be supplied with several surface treatments to match different environments: painted & waxed finish, galvanized (zinc-coated) finish, or other protective coatings. For indoor storage, warehouse shipments or short-distance transport, painted/waxed straps are usually adequate. For export cargo, long-distance sea freight, container loading, or humid / corrosive environments — galvanized (zinc-coated) straps are strongly recommended. The zinc coating significantly improves corrosion and rust resistance, ensuring durability for international shipment.
A: Our Pivot™ product is available in various strapping dimensions, including widths like 1/2" ,5/8", 3/4", 1", and 1-1/4" (12mm to 32mm),typically rated at 830 N/mm² (830mpa),We offer four primary surface finishes to optimize anti-rust properties: Blue Tempered & Waxed, Black Painted & Waxed, Green Painted & Waxed, and Galvanized (for best corrosion resistance). The performance of steel strapping depends heavily on strap width, gauge (thickness), and tensile strength. Wider and thicker straps provide higher break strength, suitable for heavier or rigid loads; narrower / thinner straps may suffice for lighter or less demanding bundles. When selecting, you should consider cargo weight, shape/edges (sharp edges need stronger straps), pallet/load type (metal coils, machinery, crates, etc.), and transport method (domestic vs export, container vs open-truck). Using the correct spec helps avoid strap failure, load shifting, or damage during transit.
A: Yes. Because metal strapping has high tension strength, proper handling is critical. Recommendations:
Use correct tensioning tools and avoid over-tightening (which may damage the load) or under-tightening (which may cause load shifting).
Always wear protective gear (gloves, safety glasses, etc.) when cutting straps; steel straps under tension can snap back dangerously.
Use appropriate seals/clips compatible with the strap type, and ensure they are correctly applied to avoid joint failure.
Inspect straps, tools, and sealed joints before loading for transport — especially for export container shipments, where vibration or rough handling occurs.
A: Industries such as metal fabrication (coils, steel bars, sheets), construction (beams, pipes, concrete panels), lumber and timber bundles, heavy machinery, export palletized goods, and general industrial manufacturing often use steel strapping due to its high strength and rigidity. For heavy, rigid, sharp-edged or irregular loads — or export and long-distance shipments — steel banding like Pivot is typically preferred over PET or plastic strapping.
A: Yes. As a professional steel strapping manufacturer and supplier, custom orders are supported. Buyers can specify strap width, thickness, coating (painted, waxed, galvanized), coil/winding format (ribbon, oscillated, jumbo bulk), and export-ready packing (VCI / anti-rust film, pallet bundling, moisture protection). This flexibility allows adaptation to different cargo types, shipping environments (sea freight / container / export), and volume requirements — suitable for OEM clients, distributors, export-oriented wholesalers, or industrial users.
