What Is Steel Strapping?

Steel strapping is also known as metal strapping,It has a much higher breaking strength, however, which can be indispensable for heavy and heaviest packages,Our steel banding undergoes a proprietary deburring process, ensuring smooth, rounded edges that eliminate the risk of cuts or abrasions during handling. This feature not only enhances operator safety but also minimizes damage to packaged goods.

Ribbon Wound (RW)

 
Ribbon wound coil steel strapping with a width 12.7mm/16mm/19mm is usually 25-30kgs per roll.
25mm steel strapping: 36-40kgs per rolls.32mm steel banding: 45-50kgs per roll.around 1 ton per pallet.
Surface teatment: Blue Tempered & Waxed, Black/Green Painted and Waxed,cold rolled,and Galvanized,Ribbon is generally suitable for manual strapping tools and pneumatic strapping tools.

 

Oscillated Wound (OW)

 
Oscillate wound coil steel strapping with a width 12.7mm/16mm/19mm is usually 40-50kgs per roll.12-18 rolls per pallet.
Surface teatment :Blue Tempered & Waxed, Black/Green Painted and Waxed,cold rolled,and Galvanized,Oscillated is generally suitable for manual strapping tools or pneumatic strapping tools or steel strapping machine.
 

 

 

Jumbo Coil ( JC )

 
Jumbo wound coil steel strapping with a width 32mm is usually 180kgs/280kgs/360kgs/400kgs/500kgs/1000kgs.

Blue steel strapping adopts a special non-leadheat treatment process. The Choice: The most cost-effective solution for high-volume users.
Best For: Indoor packaging lines (e.g., Cold Rolled Coils) where goods are shipped quickly and don't face extreme weather.
 

 

  

Painted & Waxed (Black/Green) (Double Protection):

 
The Choice: Excellent rust resistance with a 3-6μm paint layer.
Best For: Outdoor storage & Sea Freight Export. It offers the same high-speed automation performance as Blue strap but withstands humidity much longer.

 

  

Zinc Coated & Waxed (Galvanized) (Maximum Durability):

Individual Packing (if required)

 
For orders that require individual packing, the steel strapping rolls are individually wrapped with VCI (Vapor Corrosion Inhibitor) paper during the production process. After that, all the rolls are placed on the pallets.
 

 

  

External Wrapping and Drying Agent

 
The entire pallet of steel strapping is then wrapped with VCI anti-rust film, and metal anti-rust desiccants are placed to prevent corrosion during transit.
 
 

 

  

Final Protection and Reinforcement

 
The outermost layer is covered with anti-rust neutral or customized kraft paper, and the entire pallet is secured with four steel straps to ensure it remains intact during transportation.

 

  

Loading into Containers

 
All the pallets are carefully loaded into the shipping containers, ensuring they are neatly arranged for safe and efficient transport.

  • Q Do you offer "High Tensile" strapping for heavy-duty cargo?

    A Yes. We are the only manufacturer in China producing High Tensile High Elongation steel straps (>1000 Mpa Strength, >10% Elongation). This grade is specifically engineered for shock-sensitive heavy cargo that requires superior impact absorption without snapping. It meets ASTM and EN standards for heavy duty steel strapping.

  • Q Do you supply matching Steel Seals (Clips) and Tools?

    A Yes. We are a one-stop supplier. We manufacture Steel Seals (Open/Closed/Overlap type/magazined seals) perfectly matched to our strapping width (19mm, 32mm, etc.) to ensure maximum joint efficiency. We also supply manual tensioners and sealers, as well as pneumatic strapping tools compatible with our coils.

  • Q What is the best strapping for palletizing heavy goods (Bricks/Glass/Timber)?

    A For securing heavy loads like steel strapping on pallets, bricks, or timber, we recommend our High Tensile Painted Steel Strapping. It has high shock resistance and won't relax over time like plastic straps. Specifically for float glass, our "High Elongation" strap prevents breakage during transport.

  • Q Can I order mixed container loads for export?

    A Yes. We support B2B wholesale orders. You can mix Steel Strapping, PET Strapping, and Steel Seals in one 20ft container. We handle EXW, FOB, and CIF terms to major ports in Brazil (Santos), Germany (Hamburg), and UK. (Note: Due to tariff regulations, we currently focus our export capacity on Non-US markets.)
